Boniopsis is a vase shaped screening bamboo perfect for wider garden beds or pots and troughs. Boniopsis will naturally grow between 3-4mtrs in height and can be easily trimmed down in height if need be (read maintenance tips here). It is very versatile to suit most gardens or lazy gardeners!

It has naturally wide vase shaped growth with attractive bushy green foliage. The natural footprint size of the clump is 1mtr and the tops can fan out to around 2mtrs wide, like a big icecream cone shape. However this wonderful species can be planted into narrower garden beds down to 50cm wide, provided the air space is still available for it to naturally fan out. It is the best choice for sun or shady areas where dense screening is needed.

Clumping bamboo grow circular, so plant them the same distance apart as the width you have available. Eg. if your planting trench is 80cm wide, you would plant them 80cm apart to form a dense screen. The narrower the space, the closer you need to plant the bamboo together. Boniopsis is extremely quick growing and can be fully grown within 18-24 months, or quicker if you purchase more established sizes! Boniopsis is low maintenance & drought tolerant once established.
