SCREENING BAMBOO

(Gigantochloa marga)

Tigerstripe is a part of our unique & unusual bamboo range of which we have a small selection available. These beautiful species of bamboo are not the popular types that sell on mass, but rather the specialised rarer varieties for bamboo enthusiasts and collectors.

Tigerstripe is a very tropical bamboo featuring deep green foliage and an interesting zig zag pattern on the culm sheaths where the name came from!

Tigerstripe is a great single feature for its canopy shape, or growing in a screen it will be more upright. It does require more water during dry periods due to the large leaf. It looks best trimmed down in height.

Tigerstripe is quick growing and extremely low maintenance once established. It is also very drought tolerant, but it looks much lusher and fuller with regular water.

Follow our bamboo planting guide (provided with your purchase) to achieve the best results. The guides are helpful and easy to follow, and assist you in achieving the best results in the shortest amount of time. Most of the effort in growing your bamboos is preparation and the first few months after planting.

The approximate size of bamboo is only a guide. The sizing of plants does vary, particularly through different seasons of the year.

The most valuable part of the bamboo is the rootball size within the pots, which produces incredibly fast growth once planted.
