BAMBOO w/ ORANGE SHOOTS!
Latiflorus is a part of our unique & unusual bamboo range of which we have a small selection available. These beautiful species of bamboo are not the popular types that sell on mass, but rather the specialised rarer varieties for bamboo enthusiasts and collectors.
Latiflorus is a feature bamboo purely because of its SIZE! It is the prettiest LARGE bamboo with smooth green culms and large tropical leaves. It is suitable for large blocks or acreage as screening, creating shade, a wind block or noise barrier. It features stunning bright orange shoots through spring, which grow and fade to green over time. It is edible (delicious!) and the culms make for great construction for their large diameter and thickness.
Latiflorus is fairly quick growing, after the first year or two, and extremely low maintenance once established. Because it is such a big bamboo, it can take a little while to get going but once it does, it can become fully grown in almost 3-4 years. Imagine a tree growing that fast! It is also very drought tolerant, so perfect for acreage. When there is a lot of rain just before and during spring, Latiflorus sends up a huge amount of shoots. When we have a lengthy dry period, it holds off producing new shoots until the rain comes.
Follow our bamboo planting guide (provided with your purchase) to achieve the best results. The guides are helpful and easy to follow, and assist you in achieving the best results in the shortest amount of time. Most of the effort in growing your bamboos is preparation and the first few months after planting.

The approximate size of bamboo is only a guide. Plant measurements are taken from the bottom of the pot.
The sizing of plants does vary, particularly through different seasons of the year.
The most valuable part of the bamboo is the rootball size within the pots, which produces incredibly fast growth once planted.
