GRACILIS

#1 BEST SELLING

SCREENING BAMBOO

(Bambusa textilis 'Gracilis')

Gracilis is the number one best selling bamboo. It is well known as the best choice for privacy screening between 2mtrs and 8mtrs of height, as it is easily trimmable (read maintenance tips here) very versatile.

It has naturally upright growth (most bamboo fan out wide) with attractive bushy green foliage. The natural footprint size of the clump is 1mtr however this wonderful species can be planted into narrow garden beds or maintained smaller to suit your needs, down to a minimum of 40cm. It is the best choice for this scenario as it can still achieve a fantastic screening height in a small growing space. Solve your privacy issues in garden beds where no other plant would perform! In narrower spaces or pots, bamboos will naturally be slightly shorter due to the limited space. View Gracilis in our customer testimonials>

Clumping bamboo grow circular, so plant them the same distance apart as the width you have available. Eg. if your planting trench is 80cm wide, you would plant them 80cm apart to form a dense screen. The narrower the space, the closer you plant the bamboo together. For more information, talk to one of our helpful and knowledgable staff members for professional advice on your garden circumstances. Different circumstances have different solutions!

Gracilis is extremely quick growing and can be fully grown within 18 - 24 months, or quicker if you purchase more established sizes! Gracilis is low maintenance & drought tolerant once established.

Follow our bamboo planting guide (provided with your purchase) to achieve the best results. The guides are helpful and easy to follow, and assist you in achieving the best results in the shortest amount of time. Most of the effort in growing your bamboos is preparation and the first few months after planting.

The approximate size of bamboo is only a guide. Plant measurements are taken from the bottom of the pot.

The sizing of plants does vary, particularly through different seasons of the year.

The most valuable part of the bamboo is the rootball size within the pots, which produces incredibly fast growth once planted.
