Black Asper is a beautiful ornamental black bamboo with a dusty grey effect on the culms that makes the bamboo appear mystical and ancient. It has a unique shape with arching and bowing culms in a very open clump. It has large leaves and is naturally clean stemmed without much lower foliage.

Black Asper looks best as a single feature, and looks particularly spectacular with night lighting. It is fairly slow growing compared to most bamboo species, but is extremely low maintenance once established. It is also very drought tolerant, so perfect for acreage.
