Golden Painted (Bambusa vulgaris cv vittata) is a giant golden ornamental that can grow to 8 mtrs across the base in 10 years. However it will grow very well in pots if you are after colourful culms. It is a wonderful bamboo on larger blocks but should never be planted on smaller blocks as it gets far too large.
Uses: As Golden Painted has a open clumping habit it is a great bamboo for a grove effect where you can clear out the center, put some chairs inside and contemplate life with the bamboo rustling with the breeze.
Planting: Plant Golden Painted on acreage with room to spread out up to 8m across at the base in a circular fashion. It is great as an open screen or shade for cattle. It is extremely hardy and drought tolerant once established. Follow our Bamboo Planting Guide given at the time of purchase for recommendations on the best soil preparation and care for your bamboo to achieve the quickest and best results.
